Welcome to Music Makers Studio!

At Music Makers Studio, I believe every student has the potential to become a confident, successful musician. My passion is helping students build a strong musical foundation while fostering a lifelong love of music. Whether your child is just beginning their musical journey or looking to strengthen their skills, lessons are personalized to meet their individual goals, learning styles, and pace.

My goal is for every student to leave each lesson with new skills, greater confidence, and excitement for making music. I look forward to being part of your family’s musical journey!

Lessons

I specialize in working with beginning and intermediate musicians. Lessons are available for students ages 5 and older, and I also enjoy working with adult learners. Whether you’re starting your very first lesson or returning to music after many years, it’s never too late to begin.

I currently offer private lessons in the following instruments:

  • Piano
  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Saxophone
  • Trumpet
  • Euphonium
  • Acoustic Guitar (beginner level)

Tuition & Payment

Music Makers Studio offers two flexible payment options to meet your family’s needs.

Pay As You Go Lessons:

  • 30-minute lesson: $25 per lesson, payment is due at the time of each lesson.

Monthly Tuition (Recommended)

  • $80 per month (four 30-minute lessons)—That’s just $20 per lesson, offering a $20 monthly savings compared to paying individually. Monthly tuition is due at the first lesson of each month.

Monthly tuition reserves your student’s weekly lesson time and provides the best value for families committed to consistent musical growth.

Accepted Payment Methods: Venmo (@Katie-Sorensen-48), Check, or Cash

It’s nice to meet you…

Hello! I'm Katie Sorensen, the instructor and owner of Music Makers Studio.

For the past 15 years, I've had the privilege of teaching music at Idaho Science and Technology Charter School. As a certified K–12 music educator with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from BYU–Idaho, I'm passionate about helping students develop the skills, confidence, and love of music that will serve them for years to come.

Having grown up in Blackfoot, I'm grateful to be part of this wonderful community and enjoy sharing my love of music with local students and families. I believe every child can succeed with patient encouragement, individualized instruction, and a positive learning environment. Whether a student is learning their very first notes or preparing for auditions and performances, my goal is to help them build a strong musical foundation while making lessons enjoyable and rewarding.

When I'm not teaching, my family keeps me busy! In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, and spending time outdoors.

I'm honored to be a part of each student's musical journey and look forward to helping them discover the joy and confidence that come from making music.
